A lovely very detailed little Goniatite ammonite fossil which I have secured in a micro macrame setting and turned into a pendant hung on a necklace made from small unakite, jasper and black lava stone beads. It is designed to be worn by a man or a woman. This fossil pendant is one inch long and the short necklace is just 17 inches long. If it is for someone with a larger neck size please let me know and I will lengthen it a little. It is threaded on strong cord and closes with a sturdy lobster clasp.
Goniatites are actually an even older ancestor of the ammonite, rather than a true ammonite. 350-250 million years old, these ammonoid cephalopods were around from the Devonian to the Permian period, surviving the late Devonian extinction.
All the items in this shop are handmade by me with great love and great care in my little studio on the Isle of Wight (well, sometimes I make them on the beach as well), a beautiful little island off the south coast of England. This item is one of a kind and you will always be sent the one in the current pictures.
This fossil is a particularly nice little specimen!
