Macrame pendant made from a piece of pure natural silicon, which is an amazing mineral with fantastic reflective properties (you can see my hand and my camera reflected in it in the pictures). It is threaded onto an adjustable length woven cotton cord with wood and small metal beads. The piece of silicon is a little over an inch long.
It is strange to think that this metalloid mineral is the main component of sand and quartz and many other crystals, but when purified it looks like this and is so important to our electronics industry.
This necklace would make an excellent geek gift, as silicon is so important in computers, game consoles and other electronics. It could obviously be worn by a man or a woman, but it is a slightly plainer, more masculine style. Not all crystal jewellery is suitable for men, but I know that many of you love crystals and minerals just as much as I do!
