I was overjoyed when I found out that this particular shape of sea glass is called a ‘mermaids nipple’! They come from the centre of the base of a particular style of old hand blown glass bottle.

This mermaids nipple is made from a very pale green glass, and is one inch long. Most mermaids nipples I find are black glass, these pale colours are less common.
