sold out

Rare extremely dark red vitrolite glass macrame necklace on fully beaded necklace with red fresh water pearls, garnet and little black lave stone beads. The piece of glass is one and three eighths of an inch long. Please see the second picture to see the glass with a phone torch shining through it.

PLEASE READ: This piece of glass is extremely dark red. It requires a very bright light shining through it to see its secret colour. A phone torch will do it if you are in a dimly lit room. If you saw it in one of my beachcombing videos, I shone a light through it whilst out in sunshine. That was an extremely high powered torch.

Vitrolite is a very old type of toughened glass which has not been manufactured since the 60’s. It was used for decorative tiles and architectural features. I quite often find pieces on Shanklin beach, I think they must be from the old pier that was destroyed in a storm in the 80’s.

This necklace is one of a kind and you will always be sent the one in the current pictures.
