Pirate glass pendant with unusual bubble, on beaded necklace with small faceted tourmaline beads and black lava stone beads. The piece of pirate glass is a little over an inch long and has an interesting elongated bubble in it. The short necklace is just sixteen and a half inches long. Pirate glass is seaglass which is many hundreds of years old and has slowly been worn into pleasingly smooth shapes by the sea. It appears black until you shine a bright light through it (the torch on a phone is best, as it is small and incredibly bright). It is hard to find as on the beach it looks like a pebble. It takes a while to learn to spot it, but once you get your eye in you can find two or three pieces in one trip, if you know the right spots to look! I collect my pirate glass along the south coast of the Isle of Wight. It is time consuming, but a real thrill every time I find a piece.
