Fossil orthoceras necklace, ancient nautiloid creature macrame pendant, with larvikite and wood beads

£21.00

This long and detailed fossil is an orthoceras, an ancient cephalopod creature (same family as modern squid, cuttlefish and nautilus). It lived around 370 million years ago and was similar to a nautilus, but with a straight shell. You can easily find images online of what they would have looked like.

I have turned this fossil into a beautiful macrame pendant, designed to be worn by a man or a woman. The pendant is threaded onto an adjustable length woven cotton cord with larvikite, wood and coconut shell beads. The natural fossil is two and a half inches long.

Handmade by me with great love and great care on the beautiful Isle of Wight.
