This very cool fossil is an orthoceras, an ancient cephalopod creature (same family as modern squid, cuttlefish and nautilus). It lived around 370 million years ago and was similar to a nautilus, but with a straight shell. You can easily find images online of what they would have looked like.
I have turned this fossil into a beautiful macrame pendant, designed to be worn by a man or a woman. The micro macrame setting is knotted to my own design and the pendant is threaded onto an adjustable length woven cotton cord with two snowflake obsidian beads, wood and coconut shell beads. The natural fossil is one and a half inches long.
