Preseli bluestone is one of the stones used to construct Stonehenge, the famous ancient standing stone circle. It is a form of dolerite, and outcrops of it are found deep in the Welsh mountains. This stone was so highly thought of that in prehistoric times, huge blocks of it weighing many tons were dragged all the way from Wales to the heart of England to construct one of the best known ancient monuments in the world. These stones come from the same place as the stones of Stonehenge.
Preseli bluestone macrame pendant one fully beaded necklace with Preseli bluestone and wood beads. This is slightly chunkier than some of my other necklaces with macrame pendants on, as the wood beads are 8mm. The piece of bluestone is a little under an inch long and the necklace is eighteen inches long.
Preseli bluestone is, in fact, green. It is always green, so I’m not sure why it is called bluestone :)
