Ironstone hagstone with six holes (and a couple more tiny sneaky ones that connect inside), from the Isle of Wight coast FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE

£20.00

Weird and wonderful ironstone hagstone which sort of has a face, collected on the coast of the Isle of Wight. This hagstone has six holes going through it in different directions, and a couple of other small ones that connect inside (it is really fun trying to find them all, I had to use pins to work out which one went where!). Some of these are bonkers, and I don’t really understand how they form in these shapes. This hagstone is one and three eights of an inch long and I have added a macrame hanging loop to it and threaded it onto an adjustable length woven cotton cord with leopardskin jasper, wood and little coconut shell beads.

These amazing hagstones are one of my favourite things to find, but they come from a beach which is quite hard to get to, so I don’t go there very often. When I do I can easily spend hours looking, and usually come away with a few good specemins. Ironstone comes in some weird and wonderful shapes. It forms through concretion and can sometimes have multiple holes running through it in different directions. I am not sure ones like this form anywhere else in the world!

All the items in this shop are handmade by me with great love and great care, mostly in my little studio on the Isle of Wight, a beautiful little island off the south coast of England (sometimes I sit and make them on the beach too). This item is one of a kind and you will always be be sent the one in the pictures.

All items have free shipping unless specifically stated otherwise. Usually shipped within three business days using Royal Mail.

Thank you for looking. Peace.
