Large naturally iridescent rainbow ammonite with lovely flash. This recent batch of ammonites contains some of the best specemins I have had, and they are making stunning jewellery! This natural fossil is one and a half inches long. The shining iridescence is due to the formation of a thin layer of ammolite during the fossilisation process, ammolite is an opal-like gemstone of organic origin. There are imperfections on the surface of this ammonite, but I don’t think it matters, the fire on it is beautiful!
The micro macrame pendant is threaded onto an adustable length woven cotton cord with agate, wood and coconut shell beads.
All the items in this shop are handmade by me with great love and great care in my little studio on the Isle of Wight (well, sometimes I make them on the beach as well), a beautiful little island off the south coast of England.
