Genuine fossil shark tooth from the Otodus Obliquus giant shark of the Eocene period. This ancient creature was an ancestor of the megalodon and lived 40-60 million years ago. They grew up to 32 feet long! I have wrapped the tooth and given it a macrame loop, it is threaded onto a fully beaded necklace with carved and dyed bone and small metal beads.
The tooth is one and a quarter inches long. The short necklace is eighteen and a half inches long.
I use a lot of fossils in my work. I mostly buy them in at the moment, but I have started to collect my own, so we will see if I can incorporate them into my work too!
