Mermaid necklace with resin art cabachon in a micro macrame setting. The little bronze mermaid charm is captured in UV setting resin with a miniature scene built up a layer at a time using perfect tiny shells which I collect on local beaches, with real moss, gold leaf, holographic flakes, glass sand and glitter. These are a labour of love, and they are making me happy because they are really coming out I wanted them to! Such a joy when things go according to plan.
Something very exciting about this pendant is that the long twisty shells are actually an ancient type that has been extinct for many millions of years! They are preserved in a layer of clay which washes them out on one of my local beaches!
The resin cabochon is a little over an inch and a half long and is tightly secured in a micro macrame setting knotted to my own design. It is threaded onto an adjustable length woven cotton cord with wood, metal and mahogany obsidian beads.
